About Me

Although I have always had a reasonably healthy diet, I came late to exercise. I hated sports at school. I just couldn't keep up, and it felt like a punishment. When I left school I swore I'd never need a pair of trainers or jogging bottoms again. I'd just finished uni, and started a desk job when I noticed my jeans getting tighter, even though my eating habits hadn't changed. I wanted to lose weight, but wasn't convinced starving myself was the right way to go about it. I figured the only thing that had changed was that I now spent even longer sitting down.

So rather than cut down on food I decided to increase my activity levels, and took the bold step of joining a gym - on my own. Anyone who's ever been unfit or overweight will understand how hard it is to take that first step. It took me a while to find my stride, and to realise it was ok to work at my own level and not keep up with the fabulous looking lycra clad girls to either side. Slowly but surely the weight started to drop off, but something even more amazing happened. I found myself actually enjoying it, and before long I struggled to remember what I did with my time before I took up exercise. As well as looking better and being healthier, I felt revitalised, happier and more confident.

Exercise made such a difference to my life that I decided I really wanted to help others experience the benefits for themselves, so I qualified as an Exercise To Music instructor and began teaching Aerobics and Body Conditioning classes. Other qualifications soon followed, and as I'm always keen to update my skills and knowledge, my training continues to this day. I firmly believe now that if you've never enjoyed exercise, it's just because you haven't found the right type of exercise or the right intensity level for you. Now that I'm trained and qualified with a broad range of skills and experience, I am confident that I can find appropriate and enjoyable activities for everyone. As a qualified Ante and Post Natal Exercise Specialist I can even help you if you are pregnant or have recently had a baby. I am passionate about helping others to reach their own personal health and fitness goals. Why not contact me to see what I can do for you?
